▪️ How his thesis on transport communication earned him the highest academic degree in communication and media studies
President, Lagos State Local Government Tourism Officers (LALOTO), Shoye Nurudeen Damilare, has successfully defended his doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) thesis at the Lagos State University (LASU).
Platforms Africa reports that Shoye who is the Head of Tourism Unit, Lekki Local Council Development Area, bagged the highest academic degree with his thesis titled; “Assessment of Communication Intervention of Traffic Radio 96.1FM in Road Traffic Management among Road Users and Stakeholders in Lagos State.”

The thesis was supervised by Professor ‘Yinka Alawode, LASU’s first professor of broadcasting, and Dr. Ganiu Okunnu.
Reacting to the feat, the new scholar wrote; “I thank God for His grace and mercy. It was a tale of roller coaster all through but God has been merciful. Alhamdulilah.
“This feat is dedicated to God Almighty and to the blessed memory of my friend, late Ajala Yusuf Olatunji, who passed on exactly a year ago today January 31, 2024. May his soul be blessed.”
Starting his academic career from Abomiti LG Primary School, and Odo-Obara High School, Epe, Shoye had his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma (HND) at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere Abeokuta.
He was at the Crescent University, Abeokuta, for his Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, and at the University of Lagos (Unilag), Akoka Lagos, for his Master’s Degree in Communication.
