‘Niger Again?’ Another Fuel Tanker Explodes Days After Similar Incident Killed 98

A tanker carrying 40,000 litres of fuel went into flames after losing control following a tyre burst. The explosion occurred on Agaie-Lapai road in Niger State at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, when the fuel tanker was in transit from Lagos to Kaduna. On reaching the Kusogbogi area of Agaie, the tanker lost control due to a burst front tyre and fell into a roadside drainage, resulting in a fire explosion.
