Why Women Should Avoid Sex 42 Days After Childbirth – Gynecologist

Having sexual intercourse immediately after childbirth can cause bleeding, infection, painful sex and break down of perineal tear in women, Abosede Lewu consultant obstetrician and gynecologist has said. Platforms Africa reports that Lewu who said this in an interview, added that  sexual activity could commence from 42 days or six weeks after delivery or childbirth, if the woman’s overall well-being is great.
