The Emir of Zuru in Kebbi State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (retd) is dead. Sami’s death was announced on Sunday in a statement by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari. The commissioner confirmed that the Emir passed away on Saturday night at the age of 81 in a London hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by four wives and seven children.
