The number of vehicles successfully converted from petrol to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Nigeria has hit 6,000. The Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO), which dolled out this figure in a statement sent to Platforms Africa at the weekend, stated that the 6000 gas-powered vehicles number was achieved by the company since its inauguration by the then Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alhaji Rilwan Lukman in 2009 in Benin, Edo State.
