The two hands of a 12-year-old boy simply identified as Adamu have been amputated by his nephew for allegedly stealing a phone in Gombe State. The Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association in the state, Mwalin Abdu, brought this to public attention on May 27. Court Okays Registration Of New Lawyers Association To Rival NBA

A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to approve the registration of Nigerian Law Society (NLS), a new professional body of lawyers. NLS is a rival association to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) which has existed as the sole law association since 1933.
