Prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has declared that bandits currently troubling the northern part of Nigeria “are going nowhere.” Gumi, an ex-officer in the Nigerian Army, according to Platforms Africa, declared, in a post on his verified Facebook page, that the military action against criminal herdsmen and bandits will not solve the security challenge, but “will only worsen the situation”.
