The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has said that measures have been put at various ports of entry into the country to prevent contaminated cough syrups. NAFDAC Director-General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at a news conference. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said four cough syrups that were manufactured in India are responsible for 66 child deaths in The Gambia. This was disclosed in a medical product alert issued on Wednesday by the organisation.
