INDICATION Shave emerged that the Federal Government may consider the request by power distribution companies (Discos) for review of tariff. This is coming as estimates showed that the spending on electricity subsidy has reached N2.8 trillion in seven years. A new report by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), indicated that past hikes in electricity tariffs by the Discos saved the government from paying additional N1 trillion in subsidy to power firms annually.
