Former Zambian President, Edgar Lungu, Is Dead

Zambia’s former President Edgar Lungu has died at the age of 68, according to a statement released by the Patriotic Front party. The statement said Lungu had been receiving specialized medical treatment in South Africa for an undisclosed illness prior to his death. Lungu led Zambia for six years from 2015, losing the 2021 election to the current President Hakainde Hichilema by a large margin.
