Secretary to opposition party in Lagos, PDP, Dosunmu Shodipe, is dead

  Lagos State chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the passing of its State Secretary, Prince Muiz Dosunmu Shodipe. The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s spokesperson, Mr. Taofik Gani, but refused to disclose further information. it, however, gathered that Shodipe, who has been nursing an undisclosed ailment for some time now, died in Lagos on Wednesday morning. As Nigeria joined the world community to mark the 2021 World Hepatitis Day, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said over 124,000 Africans die every year from the consequences of undetected and untreated hepatitis. The naira fell slightly to the dollar at the parallel market few hours after the Central Bank of Nigeria on Tuesday announced the discontinuity of forex supplies to the Bureau de Change Operators in the country.
