Here is EFCC’s official account of how it all happened

The Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has reportedly slumped.

Platforms Africa gathered that the youngest Chairman in the History of EFCC slumped at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s administrative capital.

BREAKING: EFCC boss, AbdulRasheed Bawa, slumps

Bawa was, on Thursday, said to be speaking to dignitaries at the Banquet Hall of the State House during an event by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

As soon as he took the podium, he said his address would have been a long one given the importance of National Digital Identity but he would cut it short because of the death of a senior EFCC staff in Ibadan.

Meanwhile, the anti-graft agemcy has issued a statement giving details of how it happened.

Here, below, is the statement sent to Platforms Africa, in which the agency stated that Mr. Bawa “has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”

Bawa Is Hale and Hearty – EFCC

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa is hale and hearty. This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.

 He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.
