The Cambridge dictionary has made two critical changes to the meanings of ‘man’ and ‘woman’ in the latest update. The world renowned dictionary updated the definition of man and woman as people who may not identify with their sex of birth.
According to the recent change in the online dictionary, the definition of a man now reads “an adult who lives and identifies as a male though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.”

However, since the update, the online dictionary has been faced with massive criticism from netizens who accused them of involving themselves in sociopolitical issues.
Meanwhile, the change on the other hand has been lauded by the LGBTQ+ community while stating that the move will make the group to be recognised by the world.
