Five key things Atiku longs for in Chicago State University’ records to nail Tinubu
The Chicago State University (CSU) has released the academic records of President Bola Tinubu, following requests by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the last elections.
Platforms Africa, which reports that this has stirred deliberate misinformation by people of different political leanings, maintained that the records are already with the lawyers of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
While some of Atiku’s supporters have claimed that the candidate who attended CSU was a female, those who are supporters of Tinubu have also claimed that Atiku was put to shame because according to them what was released tallied with the credentials Tinubu submitted to INEC.

Platforms Africa reports authoritatively that the document has been released to Atiku who planned to submit that to the election court in Nigeria.
Over the weekend, the US district court for the northern district of Illinois ordered the Chicago CSU to release the academic records of Tinubu.
The subpoena was issued after a federal judge in the United States ordered the university to turn over records pertaining to Tinubu’s time there in the late 1970s.
Tinubu has been accused by Atiku of falsifying his academic credentials.
Atiku, in the court documents, alleges that the documents showing that Tinubu graduated from Chicago State in 1979 are not authentic, and that is grounds to nullify Tinubu’s election victory.
According to the President, releasing the documents with deposition would cause him severe harm because they were private to him and would not be admissible in the ongoing petition against him in Nigeria.
;But Atiku filed another appeal, leading to the judge ordering that the documents be released within 48 hours.
“The Court overrules President Tinubu’s objections to Magistrate Judge Gilbert’s recommended ruling, and therefore adopts the ruling in full. Mr Abubakar’s application is therefore granted,” the judge ruled.
Below are the things Atiku sought though his lawyers:
1. An example of a CSU diploma issued in 1979.
2. Tinubu’s diploma issued in 1979
3. Any example of a CSU diploma that “contains the same font, seal, signatures and wording” as Tinubu’s diploma issued in June 1979.
4. CSU documents certified and produced by Jamar Orr, an associate general counsel at CSU at the time.
5. Atiku also wants his lawyers to depose CSU officials about the authenticity of Tinubu’s academic documents.
Atiku is planning to transfer the collected evidence to the Supreme Court for use in the ongoing election petition case.
