Explosion Rocks Rivers House Of Assembly  Complex

There was an explosion at the Rivers State House of Assembly yesterday. The cause of the explosion was not known. It was gathered that the complex located on Moscow Road was engulfed by fire after a loud bang was heard at about 8pm last night. Heavy security, comprising 17 patrol vans and an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) were reportedly used to cordon off the area. Nigerian Varsity’s Female Lecturer Found Dead With Throat Slit

The chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) in the school  Professor Gbolahan Bolarin confirmed this to Channels Television. Professor Bolarin said her body was discovered on Sunday morning when her church members traced her home after she was not seen during service. Some residents said after forcing the door to her house open, she was found in her pool of blood with her throat slit and knives found beside her. The National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, is dead.
