President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, appointed Engineer Felix Omatsola Ogbe as the new Executive Secretary for the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Ogbe is to replace Engineer Simbi Wabote, whose meritorious tenure was truncated less than 10 months to its expiration.

With Ogbe’s appointment as the head of the key oil industry agency, many stakeholders have begun to search for any footprint of the NCDMB’s new boss in both the online and conventional media.

Many have even taken to the social media to ask for his pictures or any line about him.

Here is what Platforms Africa found out.

1. Engineer Felix Omatsola Ogbe is the director of CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT AND PROJECTS LIMITED, a company incorporated in LAGOS, Nigeria with Registration Number 288073. It was registered on 12 Feb 1996

2. Ogbe is an Itsekiri man from Delta state, Southsouth, Nigeria.

3. He is married to Mrs. Ogbe Brena Ngozi, who also doubled as a director of the company.

4. Another director is Ogbe Ortseseundede, an offspring to the new Executive Director.

5. He has no picture, no line written about him on social media as of the day of his appointment. He operates no social media page or handle.

6. Though his profile was not made available by the presidency, President Bola Tinubu described Ogbe as a member of highly qualified body of experts

The search

Meanwhile, the search for his picture or any footprint on all search engines has continued by stakeholders who are now unsettled by the inability to freely access his biography or any information about him.

Zuwairat Asokome, who also asked for any information about Ogbe on Facebook, expressed shock that none of the over a thousand of her friends could dig out anything about the new helmsman at the NCDMB

“So, none of my over a thousand friends can find a picture of Engr Felix Omatsola Ogbe? Na wa o!” She wrote.

Reacting to Asekome’s inquiry, Funmi Adewola wrote; “No pictures or profiles. (I have) Checked on LinkedIn as well… Now I’m curious about this person.”

In conformity with Sections 71(1), 72, and 73 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (2010), President Bola Tinubu has, according to a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale,

(Media & Publicity), on December 7, 2023, approved the appointment of qualified Nigerians to serve on the Governing Council and Management team of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB):

(2) Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe — Executive Secretary

The mandate

President Tinubu expects this highly qualified body of experts to discharge their duties with his patriotic resolve to significantly enhance indigenous industry participation in the energy sector as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s mandate to achieve the goal of 70% indigenous content and participation in the nation’s energy industry during the lifespan of this administration.
