Rt. Reverend Jacob Kehinde Olowokure, one of the Olowokure twins, reportedly the oldest surviving twins in Nigeria, is dead, Platforms Africa reports.
He died about 120 days to his 94 th birthday.
The news of his demise, conveyed by his twin brother, Professor Theophilus Taiwo Olowokure, has, according to Platforms Africa, left a void in the hearts of many.

Confirming the news, the Diocese of Ijesa North told Platforms Africa in a statement that the revered man in the ecclesiastical community passed “into glory,” adding that his “impact on the Diocese of Akoko and beyond was profound.”
The statement read; “His journey to becoming the Bishop of the Diocese of Akoko was not merely a career progression but a testament to his spiritual calling. His leadership was characterized by a visionary approach to ministry, one that sought to address both the spiritual and material needs of his congregation.
“Bishop Olowokure’s philanthropic efforts were not confined to the walls of the church. He was a beacon of hope in the community, initiating and supporting numerous projects aimed at improving the lives of the less fortunate. His passion for education led to the establishment of scholarship programs, while his concern for healthcare resulted in the creation of accessible medical facilities.
“The news of his demise, as conveyed by his twin brother, Professor Theophilus O Taiwo Olowokure, has left a void in the hearts of many. As the Diocese of Ijesa North and the wider community mourn his loss, they also celebrate the nearly 95 years of life that Bishop Olowokure shared with the world. His legacy is one that will continue to inspire and guide future generations.
