The news of his feat has spontaneously generated reactions from his old students and friends.
Boluwatife Odeyale, a former student of Folarin described the new PhD holder as a lecturer whose impact goes far beyond the classroom,
Odeyale, in a Facebook update, wrote; “Dr. Jamiu Folarin: A Journalist Shaping the Future Through Academia
“Today, we celebrate a remarkable achievement in the life of a truly dedicated individual—Mr. Jamiu Folarin, now Dr. Jamiu Folarin Jamiu. A respected journalist and academic, Dr. Folarin has successfully defended his PhD thesis, breaking barriers and proving that no goal is too lofty to achieve with determination and hard work.
“Dr. Folarin has always been more than a lecturer—he is a fighter, a mentor, and a source of inspiration for countless students and colleagues. Through his tireless commitment, he has helped mold many aspiring writers and thinkers, guiding them to make meaningful impacts with their pens and voices.

“Alhaji Jamiu Folarin was the man behind the story of my two degrees, he was the one who encouraged me to go for Bsc Mass Communication after my first degree in Chemistry, during my earlier stage in journalism, my intention then is to have a PgD in Mass Comm from NIJ in Lagos, having purchased a form and cleared after conducting test, and about to pay for the school fees then, however Dr Folarin who was then a senior colleague and a lecturer at the prestigious Crescent University Abeokuta advised me to go for Bsc Mass Comm in the school he tutors, and I was later convinced about what he told me, and dropped the mission of having post graduate Diploma from NIJ, and key into his advised and with that I got additional Msc from the prestigious University of Lagos, Alhamdulillah I also encouraged atleast five more people and among them on is currently during his PhD at the prestigious University of Abuja, and has also reached the peak of his career in PR.
