Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Dr Adekoyejo Babatunde Jolaoso as the 10th Rector of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta.
Platforms Africa reports that the new rector got a letter of appointment from the Governor after his appointment by the MAPOLY Governing Council.

He will be taking over from Dr. Adeoye Odedeji as the 10th rector of the institution.
Profile of New Rector
1. The new Rector, a member of MAPAMA, after his secondary school education in Egba Comprehensive High School, Asero, Abeokuta, proceeded to then Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta where he obtained National Diploma (1985) and Higher National Diploma (1988), in Architecture.
2. Similarly, he attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree (1988) as well as Masters Degree (1994), Federal University of Technology, Akure where he badged Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture (2018).
3. He joined the services of the Polytechnic in September 1994 as Lecturer III and rose to become Principal Lecturer. He once served as the Director of the School of Environmental Studies, of MAPOLY.
4. He was appointed as the Head of Architecture Department (April 2002 to June 2006).
5. To his credit, Dr Jolaoso has over 70 academic publications (national and international). He efficiently combines academic with professional practice, as well as community services.
6. The new MAPOLY Rector is a member, National Executive Council of the Nigerian Institute of Architecture; Architect’s Reg. Council of Nigeria (ARCON) – (appointed member of accreditation team).
7. He is also ARCON Appointed External Juror to architecture programmes of the universities, including: Covenant University, Ota, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Federal University of Technology, Akure, among others.
MAPAMA Congratulates Jolaoso
The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni, has congratulated Architect (Dr) Adekoyejo Babatunde Jolaoso, on his appointment as the new Rector of the institution.
MAPAMA’s message was contained in a press statement, signed by the Head of its Media and Publicity Committee, Tajudeen Balogun, on Wednesday.
The statement which was signed on behalf of the Association’s National President, Prince Taofeek Oyeniyi, stated that the appointment which was made public after rigorous screening, did not come to the body as a surprise, given Dr Jolaoso’s pedigree of focus, versatility, brilliance, diligence and productivity.
MAPAMA maintained that given his impressive academic credentials and wide experience, it looks forward to a positive revolution and new dawn in the school in the areas of monumental academic, infrastructural, transformation and development.
To this end, MAPAMA President, on behalf of its members, at home and in diaspora wishes Dr Jolaoso and his administrative team a resounding success, prosperous and peaceful tenure in the office.
