‘Failure of international justice,’ Group’s Executive Chairman Disu Kamor gives four areas of demand, seeks Global Action on Gaza Genocide
The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) and allied organizations have condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, describing it as “heinous genocide” and a glaring failure of international justice.
Platforms Africa reports that the Executive Chairman Muslim Public Affairs Centre, Disu Kamor, who said this during a press conference in Lagos, maintained that the international community’s inaction has emboldened Israel’s brutal occupation, resulting in unimaginable suffering for the Palestinian people.

He said; “As Muslims, we are compelled by our faith to stand in solidarity with the oppressed and to advocate for justice and human rights. The numbers are staggering: over 45,000 martyrs in Gaza alone, more than 110,000 injured, thousands more under the rubble, and 2 million Palestinians forcibly displaced.
“The West Bank faces daily aggression, with Israel’s relentless expansion of settlements and demolition of Palestinian homes. As Muslim organizations, MPAC and our supporting organizations are committed to amplifying the voices of Palestinians, demanding justice and independence, and imploring governments and citizens worldwide to acknowledge the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“We urge governments to take immediate action: “Demand a ceasefire: Insist on an immediate end to hostilities, ensuring the protection of civilians and the facilitation of humanitarian aid.
“Support Palestinian statehood: Recognize Palestine’s right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law and UN resolutions.
“Hold Israel accountable: Impose sanctions and diplomatic consequences for Israel’s egregious human rights abuses and war crimes.”
Kamor continued; “Gentlemen of the press, we stand here today to condemn the heinous genocide unfolding in Gaza, and to denounce the complicity of Western nations in perpetuating this injustice. Their
unwavering support for Israel’s occupation is a stark reminder of the hypocrisy that has come to define their foreign policy. While they preach about human rights and democracy, they continue to arm Israel, providing the very tools used to oppress and slaughter Palestinians.
“The United States alone has vetoed over 53
UN Security Council resolutions against Israel since 1950, shielding Israel from accountability for its war crimes.
“It is unconscionable that the same nations that claim to champion human rights and freedom are, in fact, driven by the same ideology that has perpetrated some of humanity’s darkest atrocities: trans-Atlantic slavery, colonization, the Holocaust, apartheid, and countless wars and massacres. But we do not stop there. We call on the general public to join us in advocating for justice for the Palestinian people.
“This is not a Muslim cause, nor is it a Palestinian cause alone. It is a human
cause. It is not just a cry for justice. It is a blistering battle for the most fundamental human rightthat every living soul on this planet should inherit by birthright. It is an unyielding resistance against the oppressive suffocating grip of occupation and the callous denial of the most basic human dignity.
“The birth of Israel in 1948 brought forth the mass expulsion and dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their ancestral homes and land. This is a historic injustice that continues to haunt the lives of Palestinians to this very day. The situation in Palestine serves as a brutal reminder of the consequences of colonialism and the ruthless dispossession of indigenous people. It is an agonizing reminder that the fight against injustice knows no border, no race and no religion. We urge you to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to demand justice and accountability from your leaders, accountability from your leaders, and to support humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
You can make a difference by:
1. Spreading awareness about the Palestinian cause and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
2. Supporting humanitarian organizations providing aid to the Palestinian people.
3. Contacting your elected representatives to demand action in support of Palestinian rights.
“Lastly, let us be unequivocally clear: advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people is not synonymous with the denying the rights and security of the Jewish people anywhere. The fight for justice in Palestine is not an assault on any particular group, but an unwavering stand against the policies of a Zionist state that has for far too long stripped Palestinians of their rights.
“We must remember that numerous Jewish voices also resound in the calls for justice and peace in Palestine, and their voices must not be silenced. This fight, is a fight for the Palestinians to live in peace, freedom and dignity, free from the ceaseless spectre of violence and dispossession.
“So, we implore every person of conscience, regardless of their origin or beliefs, to stand steadfast with the Palestinian people in their unwavering quest for justice. Let us unite in our pursuit of justice, peace, stability, compassion, and human rights for all.
“The struggle for justice in Palestine is a universal fight, resonating echoes of the battles waged by oppressed people across the globe. It’s a battle we must champion, a torch we must carry and a legacy we must honour,” he concluded.
