“We are finished,” marketers react to Lagos market’s second fire incident in two weeks
Six buildings have collapsed as shops and houses in an entire stretch of Docemo street in idumota, Lagos Island, have been engulfed in an inferno.
Platforms Africa reports that the fire also destroyed several goods whose worth is yet to be ascertained.
Recall that weeks ago, some shops caught fire in the same Docemo area, leading to loss of property worth millions of naira.
Already, emergency responders are on the ground to quell the fire.
According to reports, the fire started from a generator spark on a penthouse.
The owner threw the generator and fuel away, which caused a huge spark that resulted in the fire outbreak.

Marketers have reacted to the incident, which is the second fire incident that occurred on Lagos Island in the last two weeks.
Abel Onwuka, who said he just stocked his shop a day before the incident, simply said, “I am finished.”
Afusat Thomson, another seller, declared that live which was so tough before will now turned into hell.
“Who will come to our aide now? Where can we start from now?” She asked rhetorically.
Platforms Africa reports that firefighters were at the scene trying to quench the fire as at the time 9f this report.
