Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has lost his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy Isa Gusau. The Borno State Government announced Gusau’s death in a statement on Friday. “We regret to announce that Mallam Isa Gusau died in the early hours of Thursday in a hospital outside the country after battling with heart problem,” the government said. “Gusau was one of the aides first appointed by Governor Zulum after being sworn in on 29 May 2019. Nigerian Govt To Probe Ajaokuta Steel Company’s N33bn Electricity Debt

The Federal Government on Thursday said it would investigate how the non-functioning Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited accrued N33bn in electricity debt which prompted the Transmission Company of Nigeria to disconnect the company from the national grid. The Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu, revealed this to State House correspondents after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Thursday. A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano on Wednesday, ordered that an 18-year-old, Yusuf Haruna be remanded in a Correctional Centre for allegedly stabbing a cleric, Sani Mohammed, 45, to death. A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, on Thursday, granted bail in the sum of N50m to a former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye.
