The Federal Government, through the National Universities Commission (NUC) has withdrawn an earlier directive to Vice Chancellors of public universities to reopen the institutions in obedience to an order of the National Industrial Court. Recall that NUC, in a letter signed by the Commission’s Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr Sam Onazi, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, had earlier on Monday directed the reopening of universities. ASUU strike: Minister, NUC, VCs, Pro-Chancellors Meet Sept 6
In a bid to halt the indefinite strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the National Universities Commission (NUC) has scheduled a meeting among the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, Pro-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of federal universities for September 6. The meeting will hold at the commission’s headquarters, Abuja.
