“Why I Will Not Accept NNPP Senatorial Seat For Kano Central.” – Kano ex-Governor
Ibrahim Shekarau, the lawmaker representing Kano Central Senatorial district, has insisted that he will not accept the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senatorial seat.
The former governor was reacting to his declaration as winner of Kano Central Senatorial district on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party by the Independent National Electoral Commission after the February 25 presidential and parliamentary elections
The former governor of Kano State who didn’t show up to receive the Certificate of Return issued to Senators-elect at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Tuesday further clarifies that he has since left the NNPP.

His Media aide, Sule Y. Sule made the clarification to journalists on Wednesday that his principal wouldn’t collect the Certificate of Return.
“We have already made our position clear on the issue. Senator Shekarau is not interested and will not collect the certificate of return. As a matter of principles and personal conviction”, Sule said.
