France and Eintracht Frankfurt forward, Randal Kolo Muani has opened up on his extra-time volley miss against Argentina in the final of the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.
The 24-year-old forward started the final on the bench but he was thrown into action before half-time when he replaced an erratic Ousmane Dembélé.
Kolo Muani’s drive and intensity gave France a lifeline and he has been widely considered the 2nd best performer behind Mbappé for France in the final, despite his extra-time miss.

“It could have changed my life,” admits Kolo Muani forward. “When I watch it back, I realise I had so many possibilities. But on the pitch, it all goes so fast.” Kolo Muani admitted that, with hindsight, he could have squared the ball to the onrushing Mbappé, chipped the ball over Martinez or volleyed it to the keeper’s left.
Speaking further, the former Nantes forward said moving on his part of his job as a professional but will never forget the game.
“I want to move on, but it’s part of my job, it’s not as if I’m sad. I’m just not going to forget it, we were very close to bringing back the third star. I’m not going to lie, I hate it.” He concluded.
