Fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at the Ladipo Plank Market in Lagos, resulting in the destruction of goods and property worth millions of naira.
Platforms Africa reports that as of 6 am, emergency responders, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority LASEMA), Lagos State Fire Service, and the Federal Fire Service, were at the scene to stop the fire.

Speaking on the incident, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyitolu said there was no human casualty.
Oke-Osanyitolu said, “The agency responded to distress calls and arrived at the above scene of the incident to discover that the plank market was being gutted by fire.
“Fortunately, there is no loss of life. However, goods and property yet to be enumerated have been destroyed due to the inferno.”
