▪️ Reasons Tinubu Should Order Fresh Election – Movement of Truth
The last may have not been heard of the recently held All Progressives Congress gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State as a group known as The Movement of Truth has called for the outright cancellation of the exercise.
It also called on President Bola Tinubu to order fresh election saying all that was alleged done on Saturday April 20th was a mere sham and charade.
The Convener of the group, Dr Benson Enikuomehin made this call along with other members at a news briefing at his law office in Lagos State.
He insists that no APC primary election was held by Governor Usman Ododo-led committee in Ondo State adding the best decision for the party to avoid any fallout is for the President as the leader of the party to order for a fresh and transparent election.
Barr Benson Enikuomehin disclosed that he was convinced that the President has no hand in the entire exercise masterminded by Governor Usman Ododo and members of the party’s election committee in Ondo State.
He was of the view that the make up election announced for Sunday in Okitipupa Local Government Area was like wonders of another world just to give undue credibility to the drama perpetrated by them.
According to him, no primary election was conducted even in Obenla, the Ward of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and challenged Governor Ododo to produce evidence where the person declared winner cast his vote in that election.
Barr Enikuomehin noted that it was crystal clear from the beginning that the electoral committee had no plan to conduct any election since they failed to produce membership Register of the party on Friday 19th of April and election materials to the 18 Local Governments on the day of the election.
He noted that the Secretary of the Committee, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege told the Governoship Aspirants at a meeting on Friday April 19th that election materials will be distributed at a Hotel in Ijapo area of the state in which all the party Agents arrived early with some Aspirants too and nothing of such happened there.
When Governor Usman Ododo according to him was asked about the distribution of materials, he said it was done earlier at 6:30am on election day and when he was asked who did, he couldn’t provide any answer.

On whether they will approach the Appeal committee to seek for redress, he explained that it only exist on paper adding four petitions from the Governorship aspirants have been forwarded to it already.
He wondered what would be the verdict of the Appeal committee when the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje already commended Governor Usman Ododo for a job well done.
The legal luminary said it was a shame that the ruling APC could not even match the standard of the faulty primary election conducted by the PDP in Edo state.
Barr Enikuomehin concluded that there will be consequence to deny the people of Ondo South the opportunity to the number seat in the state while assuring that they will remain in the party to fight the injustice.
Another member of the group, Barr Kayode Mogbojuri said that the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje lacked the moral standard to conduct the primary election abinitio.
He explained that since he has been suspended, he cannot perform any official function and accused him of working against the wish of the party.
Barr Mogbojuri raised alarm that the enemy of the President and their agents want to destabilise the party in the South West.
According to him, the President should not allow his name to be dragged in the mud to destroy the party in Ondo State as Usman Ododo has put the party in disrepute following the charade done on April 20th 2024.
The incumbent Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared winner of the APC primary election with total votes of 48, 569, while Mayowa Akinfolarin got 15,343 and Chief Olushola Oke scored 14, 865 votes.
