EKEDC Champions Health, Sports Integration, Headlines Ikoyi Club’38 Tennis Week

(EKEDC) has reaffirmed its dedication to backing health and wellness as well as sports development programs, showcased during the Tennis Tournament hosted at lkoyi Club 1938.

Mrs Rekhiat Momoh, Acting Chief Executive Officer of EKEDC, made this remark at the closing ceremony of the EKEDC Tennis Tournament recently held at Ikoyi Club 1938.

It was gathered that the leading utility firm organised the week-long EKEDC Tennis Tournament at lIkoyi Club 1938, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The week-long tournament, according to the statement shared with Tiwalade Haastrup, HoG, Media Relations & Internal Communications, EKEDC Corporate Communications, was in line with the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility pillars, Health and Wellness.

He said that the event had captains of industries, businessmen, and professionals in attendance, adding that the participants were grouped into the different business units of EKEDC With lbeju District emerging as overall champions while Lekki District was the runners-up.

Meanwhile, Mrs Rekhiat Momoh, Acting Chief Executive Officer of EKEDC in her remark emphasized the importance of health and wellness in the society.

She said, “This tournament underscores and aligns with our healthy competitive spirit and striving for excellence. We will stop at nothing until we achieve our aim of providing a safe, reliable, and constant electricity supply to all our customers.

Diran Famakinwa, Chairman of the lkoyi Club Tennis section, said this year’s tournament is the third edition and has not failed to bring out exciting performances from the participants.

He said, “Each day brought out its beautiful performance and I can say this year’s own was keenly contested with a stunning display of athleticism and team spirit.”

Dr Dere Otubu, Chairman, Board of Directors of EKEDC, Mr Charles Momoh Chairman, Board of Directors of WPG, and Mr. Ernest Oji, Director, WPG, presented the winners, runners-up, and semi- finalists their trophies at the closing cerenmony.
