The 2024 edition of the NOG Energy Week, which will spotlight energy industry’s opportunities to drive investment needed to meet energy demand, has confirmed the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri and his Gas counterpart, Ekperikpe Ekpo, as speakers.
Platforms Africa reports that the event, which has been headlining the Nigeria’s energy space for 25 years, would also have the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, join his colleagues to deliberate on the energy challenges facing the nation and proffer solutions to these challenges.
The Country Director – Nigeria & Portfolio Director – Africa for dmg events, Wemimo Oyelana, who confirmed this at the weekend, added that the 2024 NOG energy conference and exhibition would host participants, including key industry experts and investors from the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkey, Germany and others to showcase different opportunities in the energy industry.

The conference would play host to 7,000 participants, 800 delegates, 350 exhibition companies and 116 industry expert speakers, the organisers said while fielding questions from Platforms Africa during a virtual press conference at the weekend.
“NOG Energy Week has been connecting the Nigerian energy industry with the international oil, gas, LNG and energy community for 25 years. NOG Energy Week 2024 will once again convene global Ministers, Chief Executive Officers, policymakers and industry leaders in Abuja, under the auspices of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.
“Following two decades of serving the Nigerian oil and gas industry, dmg Nigeria events continues to facilitate multilateral dialogue, foster multi-stakeholder engagement and enable dealmaking for many more decades to come.
“NOG Energy Week features a strategic conference, a technical seminar, an international exhibition, social and networking opportunities including the NOG Awards Gala Dinner, hosted by the NNPC Limited,” the organisers said at a virtual press briefing on Friday.
The mission of the 2024 NOG Energy Week is to convene policymakers, energy leaders, industry professionals and financiers from across the globe to discuss the industry’s most immediate challenges, opportunities and ambitions to drive sustainability, industrialisation and economic growth while navigating the journey towards a secure and just energy transition for Nigeria.
Themed ‘Showcasing Opportunities. Driving Investment. Meeting Energy Demand’, the event would be held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, from June 30 to July 4, 2024, to drive progress in Sub-Saharan Africa’s energy market.
Speaking on what stakeholders should expect at NOG Energy Week 2024, Oyelana, added, “Our commitment for almost 25 years has been to provide a platform where industry leaders can have frank conversations that proffer solutions to the different challenges the industry is facing. NOG Energy Week has contributed significantly to key policy development & implementation over the years.
“We look forward to having industry stakeholders discuss pertinent issues including attracting international and regional funding into Nigeria’s energy sector, optimising the significance of natural gas as the fuel of choice, and driving industrialisation as a catalyst for economic growth”.
Others expected at the event are the Minister of Energy, Ghana, Dr Matthew Prempeh; the Chief Executive, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Gbenga Komolafe; the Chief Executive, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed; the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari; the Managing Director, Shell Nigeria’s Exploration and Production Company Limited, Elohor Aiboni; the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria LNG, Dr Philip Mshelbila and others.
