Election Results: Anxiety As Votes’ Sorting, Counting Begin Nationwide

Chronicles of major events on Saturday, the D-day of Nigeria’s biggest election, marking 24 years of unbroken democratic rule first time ever in the country 

 

 

Election Results will be announced very early, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared as anxiety permiated the camps of politicians.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who declared that results are underway, stated,  during a live broadcast, that the exercise has officially ended by 2:30pm.

This came as votes’ sorting, and counting have begun nationwide, Platforms Africa reports.

At 9:02am, the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, arrives poling unit in JIMETA for aaccreditation.

At 10:17am, APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, accompanied by wife, Oluremi, arrives Alausa poling unit, begins accreditation.

11:44am: Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, casts his vote in Agulu poling unit, AnambraState

11:49am: NNPP Presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, casts his vote at poling unit in Kano

12:19pm: PRP Presidential candidate, Kola Abiola, casts his vote at Onikoyi polling unit in Ikoyi, Lagos.
