Face Painting: How Kano Varsity Student Broke Guiness World Records

A 400 Level Civil Engineering student at Bayero University, Kano State, Collins Whitworth, in a remarkable feat, has recorded a Guinness World Record for the most faces painted by an individual in 24 hours.

Whitworth commenced his artistic session at the new Bayero University campus on Saturday at 5:00 pm.

He successfully painted 791 faces by the end of the 24 hours marathon on Sunday.

He now awaits official confirmation from the Guinness World Record authorities.

Expressing his motivation, Whitworth disclosed that he aimed to surpass the existing record of 700 faces painted, setting a personal target of 720.

It is however pertinent to note that Whitworth, notably, had been assigned a benchmark of 705 by the Guinness World Record.

Describing face painting as more than just a creative endeavour, Whitworth asserted that it is a medium to convey profound messages of love and unity to the world.

Whitworth, advocating for global harmony and unity through his paintings, reiterated that the true beauty of painting lies in its ability to symbolize and promote these essential values.

He further said that he incorporated colours representing various countries in his artwork to embody the ideals of peace and unity.

The artist acknowledged the significant and overwhelming support from his backer, the university community, students and residents of Kano who gathered in large numbers to cheer him on as he pursued this extraordinary achievement.
