Nollywood superstar, Lateef Adedimeji, has spoken out on his two-year marriage with Mobimpe, declaring that some people now call his wife a barren on social media.

In a chat with a popular podcaster, Chude Jideonwo, monitored by Platforms Africa, the thespian maintained that he received such mockery with no ill feelings.

Maintaining that one of the cardinals of a good marriage is for someone to get married to his or her friend, Adedimeji stated that he laughed over many things with his wife.

“Someone called my wife a barren on social media and I told her, ‘see o, they now call you a barren, and we laughed over it believing strongly in God, and not human, as the only one we put out trust in,” he said.

Saying that his friendship with his wife even preceeded their marriage, the award-winning actor maintained that he picked Mopimbe because of their special connection and friendship.

“When I wanted to propose to her, I just picked up my phone, called her, and said,” How are you? I want to ask you something o. Will you marry me? Just like that!” He said to the amazement of his host, Jude.

The couple got married in 2023 and has been waxing stronger in love with the production of a classic cinema movie, Lisabi.

Opening up on his pre-fame journey and marital life, the talented actor, in the emotional sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo, recalled how the man who trained him in the Yoruba movie industry told him that he would fail within one year.

The movie star stated that he replied to the man telling him to give him two years and he would see what he would become.

Lateef also spoke about how he proposed to his wife on the phone and how she gets trolled online and called barren.

Adedimeji also recounted how people who promised to support him when he began working on his project, Lisabi failed him.

Luckily for him, his wife was by his side, and she helped boost his confidence.

“Someone once told me in the Yoruba movie industry that he gave me one year to see what I would become. I told him to give me two years and he will see what I will become.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolls. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and would say they would be all right.

“I just called her one morning and asked if she would marry me and she said Yes.

“When I wanted to do my first big screen job, Lisabi, I realized that everybody that I felt would stand by me was not there; there was nobody.”
